Mother and child rescued at Brancaster – Launch 12 April 2017

Three people, a couple and their young child, had to be rescued on Wednesday 12th April at 9.00pm after being trapped in their car at Brancaster beach road.

They had become marooned by the tidal flooding of the road. The father had waded back to the Golf Club and raised the alarm.

Hunstanton Lifeboat Spirit of West Norfolk was launched and proceeded with good speed to Brancaster to assist. On arrival at Brancaster the crew were informed that the tide had receded enough and that the Coastguard team had got the mother and child to safety.

Our Lifeboat was stood down and returned to station.
