RNLI Lifeboat tows vessel to Brancaster – 31 July 2016

Spirit of West Norfolk

At 5.35pm Humber Coastguard requested the launch of the Hunstanton Lifeboat to go to the aid of a 20ft vessel requesting assistance.  The vessel, with two persons on board,  had suffered engine failure about a mile off Brancaster.   Hunstanton RNLI volunteer crew launched on service and made good speed to the casualty and towed the vessel into Brancaster Harbour.

The two persons had recently bought the boat and were on passage from Thornham harbour to Wells when they suffered engine failure, and contacted Humber Coastguard by mobile phone.  They were towed into harbour and moored up, and left in the care of the local coastguard response team. Lifeboat Spirit of West Norfolk returned to station at 7.00pm.
