RNLI Hovercraft rescues two persons from rising tide – 21 July 2016

At 6.15pm Humber Coastguard requested the launch of the Hunstanton Hovercraft to assist two persons cut off on Titchwell Marsh.

On arrival at the scene it was established that the female casualty had a suspected broken arm. Both persons were taken aboard the hovercraft and landed at Brancaster beach, by the Golf Club, into the care of the local coastguard team to await an ambulance.
Our hovercraft was then released to return to station. Whilst on passage the crew were asked to investigate a report of persons thought to be in trouble off Hunstanton cliffs, and also a report of a dinghy drifting out to sea. The persons under the cliff were fishermen fishing from the rocks, and no trace was found of a dingy drifting out to sea.
