Humber Coastguard tasked the Hunstanton Lifeboat to go to the rescue of a person in the water who had gone in to save his dog.

Our crew realised on arrival at the lifeboat station that the person was actually stuck in the mud. The decision was made to launch the Hovercraft as the person was in view and was stuck in mud with water at knee level. The Hovercraft was alongside within a minute of launching and the person was then able to pull himself clear of the mud by holding on to the Hovercraft.

He was taken aboard and reunited with his wife and dog on the beach and carried on with his walk. No medical assistance was required, and our Hovercraft returned to station just a few minutes later.
