Hunstanton Lifeboat Launch – Tuesday 19th May 2015

20140309-204154.jpgAt 23.04hrs Humber Coastguard requested the launch of the Hunstanton Lifeboat in response to a report of a sinking vessel said to be between Hunstanton and Skegness. The casualties had abandoned their craft into a life raft as the vessel was sinking fast.

The volunteer crew launched the Hunstanton Lifeboat at 23.15hrs. Skegness ALB was also launched to search for the vessel and Helicopter Rescue 912 was scrambled to the scene.  The area was searched by both lifeboats and the Helicopter.  The Helicopter located two persons in the life raft off Brancaster Staithe.  Hunstanton Lifeboat took both the casualties and the life raft on board and returned them to Hunstanton Lifeboat Station where they were met by the Hunstanton Coastguard.
