Hunstanton Lifeboat Launch – Saturday 16th May 2015

At 17.13hrs Hunstanton Lifeboat was paged by Humber Coastguard in response to a report that a fishing vessel had broken down off the Woolpack Buoy in the entrance to the Wash and needed assistance. The volunteer crew launched the lifeboat and made good speed to the casualty.

One crew member went on board the casualty vessel and established a tow line, and then the vessel was towed back to Thornham Harbour.  Once safely in the harbour the lifeboat crew tied the casualty vessel to its pontoon and the casualty crew got safely ashore. The lifeboat then returned to station at 18.50hrs.

Launch time 17.20hrs.  HW. 17.33hrs   Wind: Westerly  3  Gentle Breeze, 7–10 Kts.     Sea State: 2 Smooth

Visibility:  Excellent.  10+ miles.  Part cloudy sky.
