Hunstanton Lifeboat Launch – Sunday 10th May 2015

Request for launch of Hunstanton Lifeboat by Humber Coastguard at 16:09hrs local time in response to reports from members of the public that a kite surfer was being carried away by the wind off Old Hunstanton.


After scouring the area with binoculars the volunteer crew launched the Lifeboat to ensure that no-one had been carried away by the wind. The lifeboat proceeded to Gore Point off Holme and checked the coastline then out around the sand banks with nothing found.


The Lifeboat recovered at 16:49hrs Local time.

  • Wind = S/W  force 3    7–10 Kts  gentle breeze 
  • Sea state = 2 Smooth   
  • Visibility = Excellent 5–10 miles
  • Weather = cloudless clear sky
