Tuesday 14 April 2015 at 1.45pm Humber Coastguard requested the launch of the Hunstanton Lifeboat to go to the aid of a kite surfer reported to be in trouble off Old Hunstanton about ¾ mile east of the boathouse.
On arrival at the scene it was confirmed that the surfer had made it safely to the beach. The lifeboat crew recovered his kite and bought it back to the boathouse. The surfer did not need medical treatment and was reunited with his kite.
