Hunstanton launch: 17 December 2014

Humber Coastguard requested the launch of Hunstanton RNLI lifeboat at 1.54pm to go to the aid of a kite surfer reported to be in trouble off Old Hunstanton.

RNLI volunteer crew launched at 2.03pm and proceeded to the casualty. The casualty was soon located and pulled into the lifeboat “Spirit of West Norfolk” along with his kite and returned to the lifeboat station at 2.25pm.

The surfer was in his 40’s and came from the Midlands and was staying at a local Hotel. He did not require any medical treatment. He told the lifeboat crew that he was not making any headway, due to lack of wind, and thanked the crew for their support.
