Hunstanton Lifeboat Station – Recent ‘Shouts’

At 10.00am Humber Coastguard requested the launch of the Hunstanton Hovercraft ‘Hunstanton Flyer’ in response to a report of a person in the water at Snettisham.

Our Hovercraft launched on service to Snettisham. As it arrived at Snettisham Humber Coastguard confirmed that the person was not on the seaward side of the beach but inland in the lakes. The Air Ambulance and others were at the scene. Our Hovercraft was released and returned to station.

Sunday 31st August 2014

At 8.15pm Humber Coastguard requested the launch of Hunstanton lifeboat “Spirit of West Norfolk” in response to a report of a Kayak thought to be in trouble off Hunstanton and was struggling to get ashore. As our lifeboat was at the water’s edge, Hunstanton Sailing Club reported that the kayak was safely ashore.

Our lifeboat was stood down and returned to station.
