Hunstanton RNLI lifeboat aids kite surfers off Titchwell Sat. 7th Sept 2013

At 3.22 pm, Humber Coastguard requested the launch of Hunstanton RNLI lifeboat “Spirit of West Norfolk” to go to the aid of two kite surfers reported to be in trouble off Titchwell.

On arrival at the scene our lifeboat reported that they had recovered the two surfers and their equipment, and would land them into the care of the local coastguard response team at Brancaster Golf Club. No medical attention was needed as both men were ok. The wind had dropped and they were assisting one another to the beach, and had been struggling to make it ashore for the past hour. They thanked the volunteer crew for their assistance and those on shore that had raised the alarm. Lifeboat returned to station at 4.25 pm.

Sea state calm, wind SE 2 and visibility good.

As always, you can keep up to date with details of all the latest news on the Hunstanton page of the RNLI website… and also on Facebook.
