On Sunday 14th July at 7.13 pm Humber Coastguard requested the launch of the Hunstanton Hovercraft – The Hunstanton Flyer – in response to a call from DLA* Les Collision who was concerned about four persons who were cut off by the tide on the sand bank off Hunstanton and were attempting to swim ashore.

As the Hovercraft arrived on the scene it was reported that two of the group had been taken ashore by a jet ski and the other two had been picked up by a power boat and landed close to the shore.  The crew reached the group and spoke to them. After being assured that they were all ok our hovercraft was stood down to return to station.

Visitors to the coast should be aware however tempting it is to walk out to the banks, the tidal currents are very strong as the tide turns and soon flood the banks.  Take care, enjoy the beach and stay safe.
