Good afternoon all,
The hottest weekend of the year and the most historical weekend in tennis history will probably not be remembered as a massive fundraising weekend of the MK Branch. However we found organisers at the Newport Pagnell Carnival and the Olney Raft Race thanking us for a superb turn out and we should soon see some photos on the website. If anything the RNLI profile awareness was the main winner of the weekend. Both events were fun to do and despite being very tiring in the heat those volunteers who showed up enjoyed the days and that, really, is what it is all about.
We had a float in the Newport Pagnell Carnival Parade and a stall in the main ground. Donations from spectators at the parade and at the stall raised £214.23 and souvenir sales were £89.

At the Olney Raft Race we had a stall in the raft arrival area and were selling souvenirs and offering kids games to keep the passers by engaged. We were also pleased when the local football club Olney Colts FC donated the proceeds of their “Beat the Goalie” to our collection. This brought the total collection for the day to £141.11 and souvenir sales of £71.
So not a memorable weekend for fundraising but a fun one for those who joined in.

Next weekend we are at Caldecotte Lake for the Wicked Water Fun Day. It’s the last of our summer fetes and the last chance for you to join in the fun. If you would like to come along and help out then click on the link below and add your name to the schedule. We are setting up from 0900 and the day’s events are scheduled to run from 1100 to 1500. Hope to see you there:
