Monday 27th August at 15:45 – Yarmouth Coastguard requested the launch of Hunstanton Lifeboat to a report of kite surfer in trouble off Snettisham beach.

Hunstanton volunteer crew launched at 15:56 and made good speed to Snettisham. On arrival at the scene it was reported that the kite surfer had been helped ashore by another surfer.

The crew checked with them on the beach. He was a 38 year old male from Gedney Drove. He had lost his board and had become becalmed and had exhausted himself struggling to make it to the shore. Another surfer had gone out and assisted him. On confirmation that all was ok Hunstanton Lifeboat left them with the local coastguard team and returned to station, arriving back at 16:25.
