Hunstanton Management, Guild Members and Members of the crew invited Mrs Diana Russell to unveil a plaque, commemorating her generous donation towards the refurbishment of the Boathouse, to accommodate our new lifeboat the Spirit of West Norfolk.
Mrs. Russell’s support of Hunstanton RNLI goes back many years.
In August 1991 she paid for the alterations, enabling the crew to have a crew training room and facilities upstairs.
Today, 16th May 2012, Mrs Russell celebrated her 90th birthday. Mrs Russell, her son and members of her family were welcomed to the boathouse by Mr Michael Meakin, Chairman of the Management Committee, and Robin Rafferty, Lifeboat Operations Manager who thanked Mrs Russell for her long and loyal support that she has given to the Station. She was then invited to uncover the plaque dedicated to her and her family.
This was followed by light refreshments.
From all at the station we send Happy Birthday greetings, and a big thank you for your generous support to the RNLI at Hunstanton.
